23rd Time Grand Slam Champ Serena Williams just made to the Roland Garros
Serena Williams made a moderate yet productive beginning this Monday to her most recent quest for a record-equalling 24th Grand Slam title at Roland Garros. The American star is trailing a slippery 24th Grand Slam title to match with Margaret Court’s unequaled imprint. However, the soil is her least preferred surface. An error started to incline from Williams left world number 102 Kristie Ahn serving for the first set before the three-time Roland Garros champion won 7-6 (7/2), 6-0.
Williams, playing at the French Open for the eighteenth time, dropped serve twice as Ahn pushed 5-4 forward in the opener in a rematch of their first-round experience at Flushing Meadows.
However, the 6th seed constrained a tie-break that she fixed with an ace following a 74-minute trudge before charging to an at last agreeable triumph.
“She played very well in the main set, it was difficult for me and she hit a ton of victors. It was significant for me to remain focused.“
