England Asks for Consistent Umpiring. Said Unhappy With The Third Umpiring Results
Captain ‘Joe Root’ of the England Cricket Team requested the match referee ‘Javgal Srinath’ with his team coach ‘Chris Silverwood’ to be the consistent umpire on Wednesday.
The two decisions made by the third umpire on the Day 1 of the third test were somewhere un-satisfactory for Root & Silverwood.
ECB Spokesperson shared their statement of this:-
“The England captain & head coach spoke with the referee after the game. Both of them acknowledged the challenges that the umpire faced in making consistent decisions. The match referee also stated that the captain’s questioning was right”.
Shubham Gill (Indian Opener) was caught off Stuart Board in the slips by Ben Stokes who then started celebrating with his teammates. Hence, after watching the replays, the third umpire revealed that the ball had touched the ground, letting the England team unimpressed.
